Harman's Must-Read Book List (Nonfiction)

The following is the list of nonfiction literature recommended by Harman, to be published nationwide at some point in the future, for all American citizens to read. For the list of fiction literature, see the fiction list. For the list of documents, such as speeches, letters, and short writings, see the documents list.

The point of these books is not so much to read them and believe everything that they say — which shall be evident as there are books on here which promote ideas contrary to the ideals and ends in which the author(s) of this site believes. Additionally, works by people who shall support our aims may one day be proven as factually incorrect as those contradictory works. The task for their reader, rather, is to question, even argue, with every thing the writers have to say. Everything reasonable and outrageous, and everything which may be questioned and disbelieved by those who oppose the text, must be questioned and argued with. Reading must not only be a means of learning, it must also be an exercise in independent thinking.
